Liberation digs black comedy 'Buried'

May 21, 2008 Liberation Entertainment has dug deep to acquire domestic distribution rights to writer-director Chaz Thorne's "Just Buried," a black comedy produced by Trilogy Entertainment and Standing 8 Prods. "Buried," which premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival, follows the increasingly questionable exploits of a young man who inherits his late father's struggling funeral home and with the help of a cute mortician starts providing his new company with business. Since its 2006 launch, Liberation has distributed "Shotgun Stories" and "The Hottie and the Nottie" and has the upcoming "Take," "Tokyo!" and "Kicking It."
