Raja Gosnell has signed on to direct "South of the Border," a Walt
Disney Pictures comedy being produced by David Hoberman, Todd
Lieberman and John Jacobs.
A live-action movie in which the animals will talk, "South" chronicles the adventures of Chloe, a pampered Beverly Hills Chihuahua accustomed to riding in a purse. While on a vacation in Mexico, she gets lost and must rely on her friends to help her get back home. The script was written by Analisa Labianco. Jeff Bushell wrote the original draft. LouAnne Brickhouse and Todd Murata oversee for the studio. Gosnell was Chris Columbus' go-to editor, working on such films as "Home Alone" and "Mrs. Doubtfire" before jumping into the director's chair. His helming credits include "Never Been Kissed," "Big Momma's House" and the "Scooby-Doo" movies. He most recently directed 2005's "Yours, Mine and Ours."
