Stephen Root cast in two films

Joins 'Cedar Rapids' and Robert Redford's 'Conspirator'

Stephen Root has joined the casts of Fox Searchlight's "Cedar Rapids" and Robert Redford's latest drama, "The Conspirator."

In "Rapids," Root joins Ed Helms, Anne Heche and John C. Reilly, playing the proud owner of an insurance company and Helms boss' in the ensemble comedy being directed by Miguel Arteta.

With "Conspirator," Root joins James McAvoy and Robin Wright in the historical drama, where he'll play a principal witness for the prosecution in the trail of a Confederate sympathizer who is tried as a conspirator in the Lincoln assassination.

Root, repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, can currently be seen in "The Men Who Stare at Goats. "
