Liam Neeson holds out for 'Three Days'

Joins cast that includes Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks

Liam Neeson has joined the cast of Lionsgate's Paul Haggis thriller "The Next Three Days."

The movie began filming Friday in an around Pittsburgh, and is scheduled to wrap Dec. 12.

Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks topline the movie, which revolves around a woman imprisoned for a murder she claims she didn't commit and her college professor husband who decides to break her out.

Already cast in the film are Brian Dennehy, Lennie James, Olivia Wilde, Aisha Hinds, Daniel Stern, Jonathan Tucker, and rap artist RZA.

Neeson's scenes, which are cameo in nature, see the actor playing a man who escaped from prison several times and wrote a book about the subject. He gives advice to the professor.

Neeson, repped by CAA, is currently shooting "The A-Team."
