Thieriot will play William Cooley, a rebellious student at an elite boarding school producing world leaders with the help of pharmaceuticals. Three days before graduation, several of its alumni are murdered, and William is implicated. As the school valedictorian investigates William, the two eventually become reluctant allies and targets while uncovering a conspiracy behind the crimes. Dave Kalstein adapted the screenplay from his 2006 novel. Intrepid principals Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans will produce with Spain-based Kincine's Jesus Martinez as well as Kevin Mann and Matt Perniciaro. Intrepid has a nonexclusive first-look deal with Universal and Rogue, most recently producing Rogue's biggest hit, "The Strang-ers." But "Prodigy" will be produced independently with a waiver from SAG and shopped to distributors. The Spanish production will be filmed in Valencia and at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, Spain, with principal photography set to begin Oct. 6. Thieriot recently shot the lead role in Wes Craven's "25/8" for Rogue and the indie "Driving Lessons" with Dermot Mulroney and Selma Blair. He is repped by Gersh.
