"Heroes" regular Nicholas D'Agosto has joined the cast of Screen
Gems' teen comedy "Maxim's Fired Up."
The 27-year-old D'Agosto will play a high school football player who, with a teammate, bows out of the season to attend cheerleading camp in an elaborate scheme to score women that goes awry when he falls in love. Joining D'Agosto in the cast are Eric Christian Olsen, Sarah Roemer and Daneel Harris. Will Gluck is directing the film. Peter Jaysen is producing with Matt Gross and Charles Weinstock. Screen Gems senior vp production Scot Strauss is overseeing the project. The film starts shooting later this month in Los Angeles. This is the second Screen Gems project for D'Agosto, who scored a role in the ensemble comedy "Maxim's Mardi Gras." Penned by Josh Heald, that film follows three college buddies who venture to New Orleans and find love along the way. Cast includes Josh Gad, Bret Harrison, Carmen Electra and Arielle Kebbel. Harris also co-stars in the film. Phil Dornfeld (the short "Spelling Bee") is directing, with Jaysen, Zanne Devine and Josh Shader producing. Filming begins in April in New Orleans. D'Agosto is repped by Endeavor, Emerald Talent Group and attorney Mitch Smelkinson. Olsen is represented by WMA. His credits include "The Comebacks" and "License to Wed." Roemer is repped by ICM.
