Grondin, a French-Canadian actor nominated for a Cesar in France, is making his English-language debut, as is Salome. The script, written by Salome and Natalie Carter, revolves around the reunion of a young man (Grondin) and his family after being positively identified in an unsolved missing-persons case. The reunion turns bittersweet when suspicions arise about whether he really is their son. Barkin will play the mom, and Janssen is an FBI agent. Nick Stahl and Emilie de Ravin also star. The movie is based on the life of Frederic Bourdin, a man who assumed at least 39 identities, three of them missing teens. Bourdin was profiled in the book "The Chameleon" by Christoph D'Antonio and the movie is taking its cues from that. The project has been in a the works for awhile, with several cast incarnations coming and going as financing was cobbled together. Bill Perkins, Cooper Richey, Ram Bergman, Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar and Pierre Kubel are producing. Perkins and Richey are also financiers. ICM, who reps Salome, packaged the project and is handling North American rights. Gaumont and Canal Plus are distributing in France. Grondin, repped by ICM and Marc Hamou at Thruline, appeared in "Che." The CAA-repped Barkin next appears in "Brooklyn's Finest" opposite Richard Gere. Janssen, repped by CAA and Brookside Management, co-stars in Pierre Morel's "Taken" opposite Liam Neeson.
