Adam Scott and Mary Steenburgen have joined the cast of the Judd Apatow-produced comedy "Step Brothers," which Adam McKay is directing for Columbia Pictures.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are starring as two immature, coddled men who become stepbrothers and best friends, much to the chagrin of their parents.

Scott is playing the younger, successful brother of Ferrell, while Steenburgen is playing their mother.

Also joining the movie are Katherine Hahn as Scott's wife and Andrea Savage as Ferrell's therapist.

Shooting is due to start next month.

The movie reunites Steenburgen with Ferrell, with whom she co-starred in 2003's "Elf." The actress next appears in "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard. She is repped by Gersh and Management 360.

Scott appeared in the Apatow-produced "Knocked Up" and next appears in the "The Great Buck Howard" with John Malkovich. He is repped by Gersh and Untitled.
