The late Heath Ledger will be remembered through a scholarship fund
in his name that was unveiled Wednesday by Los Angeles-based
Australians in Film.
The scholarship will be presented annually to young Australia-based actors to help expand their careers in the U.S. Ledger was an ambassador for AiF, and the scholarship has the support of the Ledger family, AiF president Susie Dobson said. The scholarship was announced as part of AiF's upcoming agenda of industry awards that include the fourth annual Breakthrough Awards, which this year will honor Australian actresses Abbie Cornish ("Stop Loss") and Mia Wasikowska ("In Treatment") on June 5 in Beverly Hills.
