Peter Kenyon joins CAA Sports

Soccer marketing pro will head int'l business development

By Carl DiOrio

Nov 9, 2009, 07:55 PM ET

Peter Kenyon, perhaps the best-known brand marketing vet in professional world soccer, has been named to head up international business development at CAA Sports.

Kenyon last month exited a post as CEO of London-based Chelsea Football Club, which after an ownership shuffle he helped build from a respected English side to a team followed around the world. He previously helped Britain's Manchester United similarly extend its global reach.

Three-year-old CAA Sports specializes in athletic-talent representation and corporate marketing, rights deals and sponsorships.

"I have worked with CAA Sports over the past two years with Chelsea and have learned a lot from their approach and their team culture," Kenyon said.

He will be based in CAA's London office.
