'Bourne' opens big with $26.9 million first day


August 05, 2007 Jason Bourne displayed plenty of boxoffice momentum Friday. Of the weekends other new wide release, Buena Vista's release of Walt Disney Pictures' Underdog developed the most traction. In third place, the live action version of the 1960s cartoon about a canine superhero, "Underdog" grossed an estimated $4.1 million on its opening day.
