MPAA sticks with R rating for 'Year One'

Board unswayed by Judd Apatow, Harold Ramis pleas

Update: 'Year One' rating changed to PG-13

The MPAA's Classification and Rating Appeals Board on Tuesday upheld the R rating given to the movie "Year One."

The film's producer Judd Apatow and its director, co-writer and producer Harold Ramis appeared before the board to argue for a more lenient rating for the comedy that stars Jack Black and Michael Cera as a couple of barely-out-of-the-cave men who travel through the ancient world.

But the appeals board still opted for the R rating, which requires moviegoers younger than 17 be accompanied by an adult, because of "some sexual content and language."

Sony will release the film domestically June 19.
