TV Guide Network renews Comcast carriage deal

NEW YORK -- TV Guide Network has reached a multi-year extension of a carriage agreement with Comcast Corp., the largest U.S. cable operator, the companies said Friday.

They didn't disclose financial and other details.

Now controlled by Lionsgate and One Equity Partners, TV Guide Network has been beefing up its programming with deals for such shows as "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Ugly Betty."

"Providing Comcast customers with our programming is an important step in our plans for the transformation of the TV Guide Network," said Allen Shapiro, chairman of TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com.

"Comcast is pleased to bring our customers the comprehensive lineup of programming TV Guide Network provides viewers," said Matthew Strauss, senior vp of new media at Comcast.
