DreamWorks co-chairman and CEO Stacey Snider has been looking to beef up the studio's comedy slate, which includes "Dinner for Schmucks" with Jay Roach directing Steve Carell and Paul Rudd and an untitled Chris McCoy comedy. Banks and her husband Handelman brought the project to the studio through her Brownstone Prods. shingle. Brownstone's first film, the Bruce Willis actioner "Surrogates," will be released by Disney in September. The company also has the drama adaptation "Too Far From Home" in development with Working Title and Universal, and the comedy "Pitch Perfect," about competing college a cappella groups, also at Universal. Banks, who is repped by UTA and Untitled Entertainment, most recently starred in the horror film "The Uninvited," and in "W.," "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" and "Role Models" in 2008. She has just signed on to star with Leslie Mann in New Line's comedy "What Was I Thinking." This is the first screenplay sale for Culbert and Pellettieri, who are repped by CAA and Underground Management.
