Peter Segal is attached to direct the tentatively titled "I,
Thalus," a comedy pitch set against the first Olympics from writers
Craig and Jeff Cox.
Universal-based Scott Stuber and Mary Parent are producing. Segal and producing partner Michael Ewing also are producing via their Callahan Filmworks. Plot details for the period comedy are being kept under wraps. The Cox brothers developed the idea with Callahan, who then took it to Stuber/Parent. The duo is writing the script. The CAA-repped Segal most recently directed "The Longest Yard," starring Adam Sandler. His credits include "50 First Dates," "Anger Management" and "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps." The Cox brothers famously broke into the industry by writing the figure skating comedy "Blades of Glory" while working at Starbucks and E! Networks. "Blades" is now a major motion picture starring Will Ferrell, Jon Heder, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler and is scheduled for release in March by DreamWorks.
