Cinematography noms hail from 5 countries


January 12, 2007 The American Society of Cinematographers has nominated Emmanuel Lubezki for "Children of Men," Dick Pope for "The Illusionist," Robert Richardson for "The Good Shepherd," Dean Semler for "Apocalypto," and Vilmos Zsigmond for "The Black Dahlia." The winner will be announced during the 21st annual ASC Oustanding Achievement Awards gala at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on Feb. 18. "Favorable reviews tend to mention beautiful images, but that's a matter of taste," said Daryn Okada, ASC president.
