The ninth annual Hollywood Black Film Festival will begin June 3 at the Writers Guild Theater with the world premiere of "Two Turntables and a Microphone," the documentary spanning the life and death of Run DMC’s Jam Master Jay.

The six-day film festival will feature 119 filmmakers in a variety of formats and a “Black Women in Film” program on June 7.

HBFF 2008 founder and executive director Tanya Kersey announced there will be nightly parties and social events and that festival screenings will screen at The Writers Guild Theater and Laemmle Music Hall 3 in Beverly Hills.
