Evan Rachel Wood has been cast in the Robert Redford-directed film "The Conspirator," which begins shooting this month in Georgia.

Wood joins James McAvoy, Robin Wright Penn and Justin Long in the historical drama about a Confederate sympathizer who was tried as a conspirator in the Lincoln assassination and the man who defended her before a military tribunal.

Redford ("Lions for Lambs") is producing with Greg Shapiro ("The Hurt Locker"), Wildwood's Bill Holderman and American Film Co.'s Robert Stone, Webster Stone and Brian Falk.

The CAA-repped Wood most recently appeared in "The Wrestler" and "Whatever Works."
