Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel are starring in "500 Days of Summer," an anti-romantic comedy from Fox Searchlight that also sees Minka Kelly joining the cast.

Music video director Marc Webb is making his directorial debut on the film, which is being produced by Mark Waters and Jessica Tuchinsky of Watermark as well as Mason Novick.

Written by Scott Neustadter and Michael M. Weber, "Summer" is an examination of a relationship between a woman (Deschanel) who doesn't believe in love and the man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls hopelessly in love with her.

Kelly plays a girl the man meets by chance while awaiting a job interview. Also co-starring in the movie are Rachel Boston, Clark Gregg, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Chloe Moretz.

Executive Jeremy Steckler is overseeing. Steven Wolfe also is a producer on the film.
Production begins this week in downtown Los Angeles.

Gordon-Levitt, repped by CAA and Industry, was last seen in "Stop-Loss" and plays the Cobra Commander in "G.I. Joe."

Deschanel, repped by CAA and Seven Summits Pictures, will next be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening."

Kelly, repped by CAA and Management 360, stars on NBC's "Friday Night Lights."
