Whistler fest to honor Ivan Reitman

Director-producer will head competition jury

TORONTO -- Ivan Reitman is to receive a lifetime achievement award and head up the competition jury at the Whistler Film Festival.

Reitman will receive his tribute on December 4, while overseeing the 2009 Borsos competition for the best new Canadian feature film at Whistler.

The Canadian festival gave earlier lifetime achievement awards to Norman Jewison, Robert Lantos and last year's honoree, Donald Sutherland.

The Whistler Film Festival runs from December 3 to 6.
