MPSE nod goes to Ben Burtt

Sound editor created the voice of R2D2, WALL-E

Sound designer and sound editor Ben Burtt, who created the voice of R2D2 in "Star Wars" and that of the title character in "WALL-E," will receive the Career Achievement Award at the 56th annual Motion Picture Sound Editors' Golden Reel Awards on Feb. 21 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

Burtt has won Academy Awards for his work on "Star Wars," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."
