Feb 7, 2008

"The Game Plan"
The top-ranking newcomer was Warner's "The Invasion" at No. 3, a remake of the sci-fi classic "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," which despite featuring Nicole Kidman in the lead role grossed a miserly $15.7 million in theaters.
"Invasion" also was the top-renting new release of the week, bowing at No. 4 on Home Media Magazine's video rental chart with estimated revenue of $6.2 million.
The top three renters remain unchanged: "Game Plan" came in at No. 1 in its sophomore week, while Lionsgate held down the next two berths with "Good Luck Chuck" and "Saw IV," respectively.
After two weeks in release, "Game Plan" has generated $18.7 million in rental revenue, or 21% of its theatrical gross. "Good Luck Chuck" has returned $27.7 million, or 79% of its boxoffice receipts, while "Saw IV" has made $15 million, 24% of its gross.
On the high-definition disc front, Lionsgate's "3:10 to Yuma" was the top-selling Blu-ray Disc for the week ending Feb. 3, while Paramount's "Transformers" was the top-selling HD DVD title.
The top-selling HD release for the week was Warner/BBC's "Planet Earth: The Complete Collection," available on both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD.
