Producer Laurence Mark and exec producer Bill Condon, who have been charged with rethinking the Oscar ceremony, have turned to an Oscar newbie, Roger Goodman, to direct the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Goodman, vp special projects at ABC, will be directing his first Oscar broadcast.
