LONDON -- Sub-Saharan Africa will be thumping to the MTV beat with
the launch of the first MTV Music Awards to be held in Africa, set
for Nov. 22 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The two-hour show, in partnership with international telecoms group Zain, will showcase local and international talent and be broadcast around the world via MTV's television networks as well as online and radio. MTV also will host four concerts in South Africa, Kenya, Congo and Lagos in the run up to the awards.
