NEW YORK -- Oasis kicked off its North American tour with Ryan Adams on Tuesday in Seattle, debuting four songs from its upcoming album, "Dig Out Your Soul," including first single "The Shock of the Lightning."

The group also played the new "To Be Where There's Life," "Falling Down" and "Ain't Got Nothin" from "Soul," due Oct. 7 via Big Brother/Warner Bros., plus the vintage hits "Slide Away," "Cigarettes & Alcohol," "Supersonic" and "Champagne Supernova."

Meanwhile, Oasis has announced a New York show at Terminal 5 on Sept. 12. Tickets will be available only through a lottery on the band's Web site. Applications are now open and will close Sept. 3.

A similar method is in use for a Sept. 27 gig at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England, which will be filmed for global broadcast by MTV.
