Olmos crosses borders with 'Crystal'
March 23, 2007 Edward James Olmos is set to direct a bilingual drama under the working title "The Crystal Frontier," based on a Carlos Fuentes novel that explores U.S.-Mexico border issues and the far-reaching effects of the two nations' foreign-policy decisions. The actor-director's Olmos Prods. will likely serve as co-producer with the University of Guadalajara, which owns the rights to the screenplay. Olmos is visiting the Guadalajara International Film Festival on Friday to announce the project.
