'Torchwood' reupped, moved to BBC2


December 13, 2006 The BBC has re-commissioned "Doctor Who" spin-off "Torchwood" and will shift the hugely successful show from digital network BBC3 to a new home on BBC2, BBC drama head Jane Tranter said Tuesday. "Torchwood," which averaged 2.4 million viewers for the broadcast of its first two episodes -- the highest-ever rated show on BBC3 -- follows a shadowy government agency, which investigates alien crimes.
