World Series knocks it out of park for Fox
October 26, 2007 The Boston Red Sox's return to the World Series proved to be quite the ratings tonic for Fox, powering the network to an easy win against the competition in primetime Wednesday. While the ratings are likely to go up when the final data is released later Thursday, the Red Sox's 13-1 drubbing of the Colorado Rockies averaged at least 16.7 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/14 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, only ABC's "Private Practice" and CBS' "CSI NY" and "Criminal Minds" were able to get any traction against baseball.
