Globomedia, Fox in co-production talks
July 11, 2008 Spanish TV production powerhouse Globomedia is in talks with Fox TV Studios about potential co-production opportunities, Globomedia creative director Daniel Ecija has told The Hollywood Reporter. Among the options being studied are a Fox co-produced, U.S. version of Globomedia's international hit "Boarding School" as well as a potential Globomedia co-production with "Burn Notice" creator Matt Nix for Spain. While Globomedia's "Los Serrano" has been re-created in Italy as the successful hit "I Cesarioni," snagging 29% of the audience with 7 million viewers, and its "Un Paso Adelante" airs in France dubbed on M6, selling series remake rights to France has always hit a glass ceiling.
