Trio walk 'LAPD' beat for NBC

Regina King, Kevin Alejandro, Michael McGrady join pilot

Regina King, Kevin Alejandro and Michael McGrady have been cast in NBC's pilot "LAPD."

In addition, Benjamin McKenzie is in early talks to join the project, an ensemble drama from John Wells Prods. and Warner Bros. TV that follows a group of police officers in L.A.

King ("24") will play Lydia, a smart, sympathetic detective in the Hollywood division. She is repped by Gersh and manager John Carrabino.

Alejandro ("Shark") will play Nate, a detective who is happily married with three kids and another on the way. McGrady ("Daybreak") will play Sal, a detective who works most gang-related crimes and is obsessed with his family's safety. Both actors are repped by Talentworks and Main Title Entertainment.

McKenzie ("The O.C.") is repped by WMA and Management 360.
