Jeffrey Tambor is set to co-star opposite David Tennant in NBC's hourlong pilot "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer."

"Rex," from Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun, centers on Rex Alexander (Tennant), a top Chicago litigator who begins suffering panic attacks and takes up coaching clients to represent themselves in court.

"Arrested Development" alum Tambor will play Rex's psychiatrist, a specialist in anxiety disorders who himself suffers from them and who also becomes romantically involved with Rex's mother.

David Semel is on board to helm the comedic legal drama from a script by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson. Showrunner Barry Schindel, Semel, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein are exec producing, with Leeds and Lampson serving as supervising producers.

Gersh-repped Tambor was recently seen in "The Hangover" and "The Invention of Lying."
