NBC is serious about finding a successor to departing medical drama

A day after the network greenlighted "Mercy," an hourlong pilot about the lives of three nurses, it handed out a director-contingent pilot order to another medical drama, "Trauma." Written by Dario Scardapane ("Faceless"), "Trauma" is described as a high-octane emergency medical procedural that takes place out in the field. Universal Media Studios is producing with Peter Berg's Film 44. Berg, his producing partner Sarah Aubrey, and Scardapane are executive producing.
