NBC picks up 'Kings'


May 19, 2008 Goliath tale, originally was ordered as a two-hour pilot, though NBC announced it as a midseason replacement at 10 p.m. Sundays at its "in-front" presentation in April. The official series pickup was made after NBC brass saw footage from the Francis Lawrence-directed pilot, currently in production. We've always loved this concept," said NBC programming chief Ben Silverman, "and after watching the production that's currently under way -- as well as the incredible chemistry of the cast and the amazing world realized by Francis Lawrence and Michael Green -- we want to continue telling the story with a series commitment.
