'Private Practice' wins Wed. demo derby

October 12, 2007 ABC’s “Private Practice” grew, CBS’s “Criminal Minds” held steady and NBC’s “Bionic Woman” declined in the 9 p.m. battle of the network dramas Wednesday. “Pushing Daisies” won its time period in its second outing although down from its premiere. “Private Practice” was the top show of the night in the adults 18-49 demographic, with Nielsen Media Research estimating 12.2 million viewers and a 4.8/12 in the demo. ABC’s “Pushing Daisies” (10.1 million, 3.6/11) fell 16% from last week’s debut but was still the 8 p.m. winner in adults 18-49.
