'Lions for Lambs' to open AFI Fest
August 30, 2007 Robert Redford's "Lions for Lambs," the first film to be released by United Artists under its new management team headed by Paula Wagner and Tom Cruise, has been selected as the opening-night film of AFI Fest 2007. The drama, which explores issues surrounding the war in Afghanistan, will have its North American premiere when it screens at the fest Nov. 1 at the ArcLight Hollywood's Cinerama Dome Theatre at the opening-night gala presented by Audi of America. The film, which stars Cruise along with Redford and Meryl Streep, is scheduled for release Nov. 9.
