Internet Week kicks off in New York


June 02, 2008 Speaking at the event, Mayor Michael Bloomberg remarked that, though other industries in New York are experiencing a downturn, the city's technology sector is "booming." The events are organized by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, which puts on the Webbys, in cooperation with the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. Webby Awards executive director David-Michel Davies was also on hand at the reception.
