Sony shoots to the 'Moon'


May 05, 2008 Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has picked up all worldwide English-speaking distribution territories for Liberty Films' sci-fi thriller "Moon," starring Sam Rockwell. " 'Moon' is a compelling and smart film that represents the sort of quality product that is key to SPWAG's business strategy," senior vp Lara Thompson said. Last week, SPWAG picked up U.S. distribution rights to Lakeshore Entertainment's Penelope Cruz starrer "Elegy" in a deal with Samuel Goldwyn Films and Netflix's Red Envelope Entertainment.
