Disney, CBS dip into Netflix stream
September 23, 2008 The arrangements allow Netflix users to stream via the Internet some new shows 24 hours after they air as well as such older shows as "MacGyver," "Star Trek" and "Family Ties." Subscribers primarily will watch the shows on personal computers, though Netflix also has partnered with various consumer electronics companies that make boxes for putting Netflix's streaming content on TV screens. A stand-alone box from Roku sells for $100 and similar technology is coming to Xbox game consoles and is being built into a Blu-ray player coming from LG Electronics.
