Allan Singer becomes exec vp distribution and strategy

Allan Singer has joined OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network as executive vp distribution and strategy.

Based in Los Angeles, Singer starts Nov. 2. He will report to OWN CEO Christina Norman.

Singer comes to OWN from Comcast, where he most recently served as senior vp content acquisition.

At Comcast, he managed the company's network portfolio, including the acquisition of TechTV and the launches of TV One, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet West, SNY and PBS Kids Sprout.
