MSG Net takes big bite of N.Y. Emmys

April 07, 2008 The top newscast awards went to four separate channels, with the two evening honors going to WNJU Telemundo 47's "Noticiero 47 A Las Once" and WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News at 5 p.m." for their coverage of the July 2007 steam pipe explosion. Coverage of the steam pipe explosion on the East Side of Midtown Manhattan also earned Tribune Co.'s WPIX-TV the award for outstanding spot news story, while the Oct. 11, 2006, plane crash that killed Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle led to a win by WCBS-TV for breaking news coverage. WCBS also won for hard news coverage of a single story for "Red Light Rabbi" by chief investigative reporter Scott Weinberger.
