LONDON -- U.K. television documentary banner Skyworks is about to become the first production company to shoot the whole of China from the air, the company said Friday.

The British production house, which specializes in high-definition aerial filming, has sealed a "world exclusive" pact with China Central Television.

Skyworks will produce the 52 30-minute episode series "Flying Views of the World" as part of an unrivaled program sponsorship package that will see it broadcast across three CCTV channels and 80 syndicated TV channels throughout the People's Republic of China.

The first season will cover Europe and be broadcast on Chinese television in 2009. The second will include aerial views covering the whole of China.

"To be the first company ever to film the whole of China is a real achievement for Skyworks," Skyworks managing director Damian Keogh said. "With filming due to start in 2009, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to film the previously unfilmable, for the people of China and the rest of the world."
