By Kimberly Nordyke

Sept 4, 2007, ET

HGTV is moving forward with a third season of the reality competition series "Design Star," which has broken network viewership records.

In addition, the Scripps-owned channel has ordered three more seasons -- or 39 additional episodes -- of "Color Splash," the show hosted by "Design Star's" first-season winner, David Bromstad.

The third season of "Design" is set to debut in the third quarter. The show rewards one winning designer with his or her own series on HGTV.

The network said Friday that is it putting out a call for applications from potential contestants for Season 3.

The second-season finale of "Design" is set to air at 9 p.m. Sept. 16.
