Lorraine Bracco joins 'Rizzoli' pilot

'Sopranos' alum to co-star with Angie Harmon in TNT project

"The Sopranos" alumna Lorraine Bracco is returning to series television with a role in TNT's drama pilot "Rizzoli."

Based on Tess Gerritsen's Jane Rizzoli mystery novels, "Rizzoli," from Warner Horizon, revolves around the crime-solving team of Boston police detective Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and medical examiner Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander).

Bracco will play Rizzoli's mother Angela, who despite her tough Boston exterior is a beautiful woman, loyal wife and mother of three.
