CBS says aye for 8 series
May 16, 2007 Freshman drama "Shark," sophomore dramas "The Unit," "Criminal Minds" and "Ghost Whisperer" as well as "Numbers" were all officially renewed, along with quirky sophomore comedy "How I Met Your Mother" and midseason half-hour "Rules of Engagement." CBS' other new series orders for next season include the musical mystery "Viva Laughlin," the vampire crime drama "Moonlight," the Latin family drama "Cane" starring Jimmy Smits, multicamera comedy "The Big Bang Theory" from "Two and a Half Men" co-creator Chuck Lorre and game show series "Power of 10." Observers had speculated about "Shark" possibly moving out of the cushy Thursday 10 p.m. time slot, making room for a hot new prospect, with "Cane" among the candidates.
