On the series' upcoming fourth season, Cannon will succeed Jerry Springer, who bowed out last week. Cannon is the third host for "Talent," which launched in 2006 with Regis Philbin as emcee. "Nick exemplifies the spirit of 'America's Got Talent' with his talent, originality and an infectious love of performing and creating," NBC head of alternative programming Paul Telegdy said. "His popularity and appeal are sure to take the series to a new level of success." The hosting gig is part of deal Cannon negotiated with NBC that involves unspecified future projects. "This is just the first of multiple projects we are looking to do with Nick at NBC," NBC co-chair Ben Silverman said. "He's a true triple threat: a multitalented producer, actor and musician." Cannon brings a younger face to "Talent," whose celebrity judges are Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff. Though "Talent" is the most-watched show in the summer among total viewers, NBC wouldn't mind boosting its 18-49 demographic.
