Turner Broadcasting's head of acquisitions Jonathan Katz is leaving the company.

Linda Yaccarino, executive vp and COO of Turner Entertainment ad sales/marketing and acquisitions, broke the news to company staffers in an internal memo.

"Jonathan joined our programming acquisition group in 2000 from CNN Newsource Sales and helped establish the repositioned TNT and TBS by acquiring series like 'Cold Case,' 'Without a Trace,' 'The Office' and 'My Name is Earl,' and recent movies including 'The Dark Knight,' 'Get Smart' and 'The Women,' " she wrote.

Katz served as senior vp/general manager of program planning and acquisitions and added Peachtree TV to his responsibilities two years ago.

"He has helped make that business another Turner Broadcasting success story, Yaccarino said.

She indicated that the company will announce management changes in the acquisitions division and at Peachtree TV in the coming weeks.
