Showrunner switch on 'Good Wife'Dee Johnson exiting CBS series; King duo taking overOct 15, 2009, 11:00 PM ET
There is a change at the helm of CBS' freshman drama "The Good
Wife."
Showrunner/executive producer Dee Johnson is leaving the series, with co-creators/executive producers Michelle and Robert King taking over showrunner duties. Because of the Kings' limited experience -- they created ABC's short-lived series "In Justice" and the pilot "Judy's Got a Gun" -- Johnson, a veteran showrunner, was brought in to make sure things ran smoothly. She was recruited for the pilot and the original 12-episode order, during which time the Kings were to find their footing. With producer CBS TV Studios impressed by the Kings' showrunner skills and "Wife" securing an early full-season pickup, Johnson is departing to focus on development.
