ABC is launching "Seattle Grace: On Call," an original Web companion series to the network's long-running hit "Grey's Anatomy."

The new six-episode series debuts Nov. 19 at 10:00 p.m. EST on ABC.com on, immediately following the on-air broadcast of the latest "Grey's" episode. The documentary-styled show takes place at Joe's Emerald City Bar - -a hangout frequented by the doctors depicted on "Grey's."

Several "Grey's" cast members will appear on "Seattle Grace: On Call," including Gloria Garayua and Brandon Scott, who both play interns on the show. The Web series, which will conclude in January, will occasionally reflect plotlines from the ongoing "Grey's" season, said officials.

"Seattle Grace: On Call" is not the first original Web series for ABC, but does mark one of the few occasions that the network has produced an online show tied to a particular primetime series. In the past ABC.com has featured the short form comedy series "Voicemail," as well as "Squeegees" -- which was produced by the now defunct digital studio Stage 9 Digital Media.

ABC has signed on the Italian food company Bertolli as the official sponsor of "Seattle Grace: On Call."
