G4 is putting a collegiate spin on the police reality series with "Campus PD."

Each episode of the show follows officers on duty at five college towns across the U.S. as they deal with the challenges of university mayhem.

"It's no secret that high-energy police shows are very popular among male viewers," G4 president Neal Tiles said. "With 'Campus PD,' we join real police teams and head to college towns, where the students -- and their everyday lives -- will prove highly relatable to G4's core young male audience."

G4 has ordered 10 half-hours; the first airs Dec. 9.

The network has aired repeats of "Cops" to solid ratings for years. The addition of "Campus PD" gives the network a younger twist on a proven format. The show will visit Cincinnati; Tallahassee, Fla.; San Marcos, Texas; Chico, Calif.; and Greenville, N,C.

Cops on the show deal with drunk driving, shoplifting, indecent exposure, etc. The show is produced by Cineflix and exec produced by Simon Lloyd.
