Bell Canada in deal with Paramount
May 21, 2008 Canadian phone giant Bell Canada said Wednesday that it has reached agreement with Paramount Pictures and other digital producers to offer new TV and movie releases for legal purchase or rental at its Bell Video Store. Bell is to pact with Paramount Digital Entertainment for first-time release of its digital content in Canada, and with Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment to offer its animated content. Going head-to-head with iTunes, the Bell Video Store also will tap digital content from boutique suppliers Maple Pictures, Eros Entertainment and Image Entertainment.
